How to Profit with Diamond Locks?

How to Profit with your Diamond Locks?

Growtopia is a sandbox with so many ways to make profits. But, instead of exploring different routes to getting stacks, people decide to come to the forums so that they don’t have to explore the methods themselves. So I decided to make a small guide on what you can do with your dls. These are just a few of what you can do with your dls and should not be your go-to whenever you’re out of ideas. Methods in Lower Wealth Ranges are completely fine to do in Higher Wealth Ranges but not the other way around.

Doing Methods in Lower Wealth Ranges with a Higher a Wealth Range just means you have more options and easier ways to implement in them into your current profiting methods. Doing a combination of the methods is recommended.

Wealth Ranges

0-5 Diamond Locks

Trading/Reselling Items - This is just Buying items for cheap and Selling them for more. Do know that finding the item to trade is up to you. It also helps if you enjoy trading this item or observe prices and how often it sells in it’s respective Buy+/Sell+ world before you trade them. Look for items with decently high demand. Moderate to High Time Consumption.

Farming - Harvest, Break, Plant, Repeat. If you’re looking to earn wls from gems: Lgrids, Ftanks, Peppers, Pinballs, Chand, Sorcerer, Bountiful Blocks. If you’re looking to earn wls from seeds: Bountiful Blocks, HTB, Treasure Chest, Lovewillows, Ice, etc. Moderate to High Time Consumption Mass Producing - Not much experience with this outside of lazy mass producing. I flopped most of my projects where I started with basic seeds. Moderate to High Time Consumption.

Planting Farmables to sell Blocks/Farms - The profit with this comes from the gems and block prices. Most farmables have a x3.6 Block drop rate from harvesting a tree so expect on average for every 1k seeds to get around 3.6k - 3.8k blocks. Do your own calculations to see if it’s worth it for the farmable you’re planning to do. Low to Moderate Time Consumption.

Lazy Massing(One Step Splicing) - Buy seeds for a recipe, splice them and sell the blocks. The profit from this is much lower than normal Mass Producing but it’s so much easier. Examples of Lazy Mass Producing items - Display Blocks, Science Stations, Pillars, etc... Low to Moderate Time Consumption.

Planting Seeds to Sell Blocks - Similar to Planting Farmables to sell Blocks. Instead of farmables though, you just plant decoration blocks which are commonly bought. The drop rate of blocks from non-farmable trees range from x2.5 to x2.8 if you don’t use DCS and Sorrow + Fuel. With Sorrow + Fuel, the drop rate is around x2.8 to x3. Some basic decoration blocks include Open Signs, Steam Doors, Theatre Curtains, etc... Make sure to see if it’s profitable for the block you’ll be selling. Low to Moderate Time Consumption.

5-20 Diamond Locks

Trading/Reselling Items - The same as above but you get more flexibility in the items you can trade. Generally, more expensive items have a wider price range. Find these items and trade them if you see that they have a wide price range and a high demand. You’ve now also unlocked the option of trading multiple items with your bigger wealth. Targeting a certain world can make it easier to sell items and more profitable. Example. Reselling Weathers in BuyWeather or Selling Fossil and DNA in BuyFossil. It makes more sense. Moderate to High Time Consumption

Selling Quests - Selling quests, role of the day services and daily quest are really good ways of profiting. Can be competitive to sell your quests. Moderate to High Time Consumption

Selling Carnival Quests - Selling Shatter Quests, Fossil Quests, DNA (not the quest) and much more are some of the ways to make quick dls. Preparing for Carnival which happens usually on the First Friday of each month will help you make dls. Shatters can be sold for 6-9wls depending on what time you’re active and how pro you look. Not kidding, having mercy wings or an expensive item will help you sell shatters for higher prices like 8-10wls. It helps if you invest in making a good looking world where you will sell quests and a trust board. Low to Moderate Time Consumption

Silkworm Farming - Very profitable especially around events where you can catch event fish with Catch-Of-The-Day(COTD) Bait. Right now it’s very slow but stable income if you’re willing to try it. Silkworms live for 20 days so you’ll be farming silkworms for 20 days straight. There should be plenty of guides on how to take care of them. On average, you’ll get 5 silk threads per silkworm and you’ll need 100 threads to make one silk bolt. Try to sell your bolts in iHemo discord server which is easier or in BuySilkBro. 20 Days + Preparation Time for gathering Food and Water.

Geiger Farming - If you have a lot of time, multiple alts (not sure if this goes against EULA) and a few dls to spend on geigers, this is a method you could try. Geiger chargers help or you could try find Geiger world owners that do free Dead-to-Alice services where they just trade you an alive Geiger for your dead geiger. Profit really depends on how often you’re going to Geiger plus your luck. Low to Moderate Time Consumption

20-50 Diamond Locks

Selling Gems (Recommended to have 30+dls) - With 20+dls, you can now afford a Gaia + UT. This is an extension of farming but with higher profits. Gems can be sold for a rate of 1100-1400/1wl. These rates are better than buying and selling conventional packs which go for 1600-1800/1wl. High Time Consumption.

Investing (Recommended to have 30+dls) - I changed my mind, GT economy is way too unstable - you could earn dls in days by investing in an item. Here’s an easy and basic way to invest. Wait for events and look at potential items/clothes that are useful or look really cool. Buy them at their lowest price on the second last to last day. Keep them for around 10-11 months and sell them for your yearly profit. Some basic investment items are Balance Mooncakes, Candy Cane Bait and Fireworks. Higher priced event clothing are usually quite safe investments but, if you plan to invest in them, you should still observe their prices from the start of the event and how much supply/demand there are for them. IOTMs are also safe investments. If you’re feeling risky, invest in manipulated items when you see they’re starting to get manipulated. High Time Consumption

Mini Vend Worlds - Opening vend worlds selling packs like crime, surgery, blocks and other items are slightly viable at this range. Although, a huge problem you’ll face is advertising the world which you can do 3 things. SB regularly, Spam your world name in a Buy+ (I am not saying to use spam bots/copy-paste) or Post in the Forums/Discord servers. Have a schedule for when you SB. SB twice a day and have the second SB follow the first SB after 10mins. It’ll help people remember your world better than a lone SB. Spamming your world name will attract customers but not long-term ones. High Time Consumption

Science Station Farms - Not much experience with this but it is something people do suggest so look into it if you want. I suggest buying one after Halloween. Using water farms where you just hold punch will save you a lot of effort. High Time Consumption

Fishing - Fishing especially with a high Fishing Role level is a grindy, consistent way to make dls. Try selling your fish/fishing role items/fishing items on a discord server like the iHemo discord found in BuyBait. It’s inconvenient to sell your fishing drops outside of that server since BuyBait has been muted. Ultra High Time Consumption

Surgery - Not much experience with this. You need at least level 6 Surg Role. Farming EPC by only performing surgery on Train-E is pretty much the main way to profit. Doing this may take a while since you probably have to do over 200 surgs as you may get unlucky if you’re going to be doing less. Also doing surgery during Valentine’s Day for cloud nine capes are profitable. High Time Consumption

Pet Battling - Get a good deck, buy a tournament ticket and just farm the pagoda blocks. If you want to be lazy, just invest in a decent meta deck and start just putting in 1 token for pagoda blocks and taking the prize. You can get 20 tokens max daily meaning you have to win 20 battles which is alright depending on who is doing the tournament at the time. So with a 2/3 chance of getting blocks and assuming you’re going to be getting 100 tokens over the 5 day period, you will get approximately 180-200 of the basic pagoda blocks. The pagoda bases sell for 1-1.5/1 or more expensive and the pagoda roofs sell for around 1-2/1. Moderate to High Time Consumption

50-100 Diamond Locks

BFG - You will need at least 105 dls to get just a Magplant and Gaia. The better extension to farming with lower profit than selling gems but lower effort and more consistent. At certain times, people are willing to BFG nearly anything not hard. But at the busiest time, people will only break Chands or LGrids. AFK farms are a nice way to remove nearly all effort from running BFGs and make life easier but you will need decent internet. Farmer Role lvl 7+ helps make a few extra wls per farm. Low to High Time Consumption

Trading Worlds - You’ve now become rich enough to trade obscure Buy+, 3 Letters and many more worlds. Knowing how to evaluate a world will help. Not much experience with this but it is viable. High Time Consumption

Tackle Farms (Recommended to be on the higher end of the 50-100 range) - Not much experience doing tackles. It does work though. All other forms of providers not listed here are nearly obsolete so don’t bother with those unless you’re planning a Unicorn farm for some reason. High Time Consumption

Selling Ancestral Upgrades - Make Ances upgrades and sell them. Pretty self-explanatory. Buy a RCB and a lot of white crystals and start shattering the upgrades yourself. They sell quite easily but you will need to advertise in the worlds being spammed in BuyAnces because there’s no way you’re beating our a spam bot. Moderate to High Time Consumption.

Building Block Machine Farms - No experience with this. It’s pretty much a provider farm - Place BBM, harvest daily and sell the blocks. The problem you’ll have is the same as advertising any vend worlds. If you want it to be long-term, buying links is probably a good way to make sure you’re consistently selling stock. Probably good to have a minimum of 1k BBM but I’m not really sure. ZepperQ had a nice breakdown of the profits in one of his posts. High Time Consumption

100-200 Diamond Locks

Vend Worlds - An extension to Mini Vend Worlds but you go a lot bigger. You now have access to opening Clash block shops, Building Block Machine shops and a combination of packs available in store. Of course, you’ll still face the problem of advertising your world no matter how small/big your vend world is. SBing regularly will help your world be remembered more and buying links now take up less of your budget. Of course, I don’t have experience in this but I’ve seen that it is viable with good advertising. High Time Consumption.

Trading - With your higher budget, you can now trade various items in BuyGHC, Label and Seeds. You’ve probably been doing this or still are if you’ve gotten up to here. It can take time to sell your items since you’ll be buying for a cheap price and selling them at a premium. But, this will give good profits as the items you’ll be trading have wide price ranges. High Time Consumption.

Buy/Sell+ - No Experience with this one. You do have the budget to buy relatively small-medium to medium sized Buy/Sell+ worlds. There are many ways to make profit off of these. Keep them and just make daily profit or trade these worlds around. High to Ultra High Time Consumption.

Investing - You’re rich enough to invest in items which are way too expensive for a lot of players. You’ll generally be floating around BuyGHC, Seeds and Label to look at item prices and how they get manipulated. Marvellous Mission items, Legendary Quest items and in general, good looking clothes will often rise/get manipulated. Learn which is getting manipulated or rising and decide whether it’s worth it to risk jumping on the bandwagon. Moderate to High Time Consumption.

Role Quest Guide

ROLE QUEST GUIDE

The Role Up! update was released on September 17, 2018 as Part 2 of the September Update. The update included roles that can be accessed through the /roles command. Leveling up specific roles will grant the player items. Each day, there will be a specific role that will give extra points and a Growtoken upon completing the first quest.

What are those "Role Quests" If may I ask?

The Role Quests came with the Role Up! update, and that's a system similar to Crazy Jim's Life Goals, at some sort. More like it's Life Goals and Daily Quests combined with better outcome at all, though it's complicated. You are supposed to complete some tasks from different classes.

Then how do I do these?

Easy peasy. First off, wrench yourself and click "Goals and Quests", and hit "View Role Quests", it's a bit down there, or alternatively type /roles in the chat.

In this screen there is two buttons, one is "Start Quest" and the other one is "View Role Stats". To start a quest select the first one. Now you'll see your current chosen role (if you completed any quest) or a list of roles. Choose one and hit "Start xxxxx Quest" and confirm it. It'll give you a mission (which we'll talk about) and the time remaining (ends at GT midnight). Here are the rules:

• You can have only one quest active

• You can take more quests that day by paying increased amount of Gems (first free, second 4k, third 16k...)

• Current quest and gem requirements reset at midnight

• Each day one role (or all if it's Jack of All Trades day) will get a Growtoken for the first quest complete and all the quests of this role will be giving %25 more role points

• You have to turn your quest in when done by the screen where you take quests or it'll not be complete and wasted for the day.

Farming Quests

Farmer is an easy-to-level side role, and provides most of the side blocks needed for main roles so this should be your second objective.

Surgery Guide

Performing Surgery

First and Foremost, You can't start a surgery without any surgical tools, which means you need some World Locks or gems in order to buy them. These are all the complete list set of tools required in order to do surgery. Take note that Not each tool is required to complete surgery, but it is advisable that players carry each tool in case they are required during surgery.

Surgical Tools

These are items that being used in surgery in order to perform a surgery on the patient. The tool is used up during the surgery. There are thirteen different types of tools and any of them can fall from a Surgical Tool Tree.

Sponge - Used when the surgery screen says "You can't see what you are doing!" in this case, the player is forced to use the Surgical Sponge. Can also be used when it says "It's becoming hard to see". Price: 16 per World Lock

Surgical Splint - Used to fix fractures. If the patient has a broken bone, use this to remove it. Price: 13 per World Lock

Surgical Antiseptic - Used to clean the operation site. If the operation site is unsanitary, this can be used to make it clean. Price: 18 per World Lock

Surgical Antibiotics - Used when the patient has a fever. If the surgery screen says "Patient's fever is climbing," this can be used to lower the temperature". Price: 15 per World Lock

Surgical Anesthetic - Used to put a patient to sleep, turning its Awake status to Unconscious. Used before Surgical Scalpel, if not, the player will fail the surgery. Price: 17 per World Lock

Surgical Scalpel - Used to cut open the patient. This tool is usually used until the "Fix it" button has appeared. It is also to be used before fixing a shattered bone. Price: 16 per World Lock

Surgical Stitches - Used to stop the patient from bleeding or close up incisions. This tool is usually used when the patient is losing blood before a Surgical Scalpel has been used or after the "Fix it" button when the player's incisions need to be stitched up. Price: 20 per 15 World Lock

Surgical Lab Kit - Used to unlock Surgical Antibiotics. Surgical Antibiotics cannot be used before using this tool. Price: 18 per World Lock

Surgical Clamp - Used to clamp up blood vessels. If the patient is losing blood before the "Fix it" button can be used, this tool can be used to stop tthe patient from losing blood. Can only be used if the patient has at least one incision. Price: 17 per World Lock

Surgical Pins - Used to fix shattered bones. When used, a shattered bone turns into a broken bone. This item can only be used when the patient has at least one incision. Price: 19 per World Lock

Surgical Transfusion - Used to transfuse a several pints of blood into a patient. When the pulse of a player is weak or extremely weak, this will turn the pulse back to steady or strong. Price: 18 per World Lock

Surgical Ultrasound - Used to diagnose a patient. The player will not know what condition the patient has if this is not used. It will reveal physical issues of the patient and other tools needed for the surgery. Price: 17 per World Lock

Surgical Defibrillator - Used to shock a patient back to life. If the patient's heart has stopped, this must be given to the patient otherwise surgery cannot continue. Price: 18 per World Lock

Skill Fail/Surgeon Skill

Skill Fail is a randomly-generating mechanism designed to make surgery harder. During surgery, the surgeon may fail to use a tool properly. In the event of a skill fail, the player is required to do that step again before continuing. If a player's Surgeon Skill is higher, the player will receive less skill fails. Players with a low Surgeon Skill will face more skill fails and is part of the learning process to becoming better at surgery. Players with a Surgeon Skill of 100 can still face skill fails, however, the chances are extremely low.

Some tips if you are starting surgery :

Try to do easy surgeries first. Once you can do them, you'll understand the system and can try harder surgeries.

Give up in hard surgeries. You will just waste your tools.

If you have useless tools (Antiseptic for exemple, You can use it and quickly press chat button if you want to talk while you are in a surgery.

Do Surgeries on your friends! If you do surgery on random people they will most likely leave during the surgery and give you malpractice which prevents you from doing surgery for an hour.

SKILL FAILS : Just use the tool you used again. If you previously used a scalpel don't use it again though. The percentage shown is reduced as you get skill points. (1 Surgery = 1 Skill Point ,Max 100). You will be getting alot of skill fails at first. Don't worry.

Fail Reasons:

Failed a Surgery? Here's why

You either used anesthetic twice. You put your patient to sleep permanently.

Your patient bled too much. You didn't use stitches.

The Patient's fever was too high. (+108.0)

The Patient was too weak. (Applies in hard diseases, when you take too long)

You used a scalpel BEFORE using anesthetic. You stabbed him/her

You can't do long range surgery.

The patient left.
